At the centre of the Piazza della Repubblica there is the marble statue of St. Vito patron saint of Mazara, built by Ignazio Marabitti in 1771. Elegant eighteenth-century buildings rise around the statue such as the Seminary of the Bishop’s Palace, the Cathedral, the Seminary of the Clerics.
