Nature Reserve of Lo Stagnone

Lo Stagnone is a nature reserve located in Marsala. Its ecological and historical significance has made it a unique example of balance between sustainable development and environmental protection.

With the Egadi Islands on the horizon, the reserve is distinguished by the presence of a large lagoon with pink waters, delimited by the natural barrier of Isola Grande or Longa. In their long journeys, to and from North Africa, it is possible to see them stop right in the reserve, where they find ideal conditions for breeding and feeding, such as brackish water and the microorganisms crucial for their sustenance.
