Vita
Vita is a village that admires the majesty of Mount Baronia, the mountain that ‘looks benevolent’, which houses one of the largest green lungs of western Sicily: the forest of Baronia.
Here there is a wonderful coniferous wood in which there are still areas of the ancient oak wood that host beautiful chestnut oaks.
With their inverted cone shape, the niviere are a characterizing element in the forest of Baronia. An ingenious system that served to preserve the snow – accumulated in winter – in the warmer months, thanks to a system of coverage with straw and earth.
In the woods, one of these niviere has also become an artificial lake.
Panoramic point in the forest is the warehouse of the Forest, from which you can admire Monte Polizo, the village of Vita and Montagna Grande.
This wood is a place to discover in which to spend pleasant days in contact with nature, penetrating paths to be travelled on foot or by mountain bike. Paths that from the equipped area lead to the highest and most panoramic points of the wood, where you can see Trapani, the temple of Segesta, the obelisk of Pianto Romano and the castle of Salemi, Rocca Busambra and Monte Bonifato.
