FAM-Trip 2022: 11 travel bloggers exploring Western Sicily
From October 18th to 23rd, we organized a unique trip to discover the wonderful territories of Western Sicily: the first FAM-Trip of West of Sicily. This special journey allowed us to promote our land, our traditions, and our culinary delights to tourists from all over the world.
We invited eleven travel bloggers and content creators to visit the most iconic places in Western Sicily in a dreamy autumn atmosphere.
One of the guests, Danielle Leight, wrote about the charm of an autumn vacation on the islands of Favignana and Levanzo, which are typically visited during the summer, in her travel blog.
For the English travel blogger, swimming at the end of October was a memorable experience, a pure wonder!
But what does FAM-Trip mean?
It is a familiarization trip in which industry professionals gain familiarity with a new environment, networking and increasing awareness of the territory. Building new relationships allowed us to spread the message that Western Sicily has so much to offer even more.
Moreover, the initiative has achieved excellent results in terms of dissemination: FAM-Trip-themed content received over 2 million views and more than 65,000 interactions including likes, comments, and post sharing.
These are not just numbers but significant elements: this extraordinary land deserves to be known by everyone and we have seen that promoting its beauties generates enthusiasm in the web world.
Emma Krasov, for example, is a Californian travel blogger who wrote about the wonders visited during the FAM-trip in her articles. Among the places that fascinated her the most, she mentions the crystal clear waters and the peace of Favignana, the memorable excursion to the Museum of Contemporary Art of Gibellina, the mystical walks through the medieval streets of Erice, and the mountains of sea salt similar to snow, which turned pink in the rays of Trapani‘s sunset.
But we also know that Western Sicily offers culinary experiences of all kinds and for all tastes!
Our guests enjoyed numerous tastings, dinners, and show cooking with typical products of the Sicilian culinary tradition.
Antje Seeling, a German food enthusiast travel blogger, was impressed by the stories of our guide inside the Mangiapane Cave, almost imagining the smell of freshly baked bread.
But Antje did not only appreciate the food stories: in her article, she praises the taste of the sweets from Pasticceria Maria Grammatico in Erice, the aroma of the new oil of Buseto Palizzolo, the cassatelle in broth of Valderice and the sweet ones of Custonaci, the cunzato bread of Castellammare del Golfo and the sandwiches with tuna from Favignana.
There is no doubt: her readers will know for sure that this is a journey to discover authentic flavors, which do not leave room for complex culinary constructions but are exceptional in their simplicity.
The first FAM-Trip of West of Sicily has achieved excellent results not only in terms of numbers.
This mix of emotions involved everyone: organizers, guests, and locals, who, as always, proved to be welcoming, warm, and genuine.
Western Sicily has so much to offer to anyone who knows how to make the most of a land rich in history, passion, and familiarity.
Our guests had the opportunity to experience something extraordinary during an unconventional period like autumn, admiring destinations that are not only meant to be visited, but also savored.
One unanimous opinion emerged: Western Sicily is a splendid region to visit all year round, and every season is perfect for a different kind of trip. Mild temperatures, colors, scents, traditions, and dishes of all kinds that delight even the most demanding palates.
We are very proud of how this first FAM-Trip of West of Sicily ended, and seeing our guests’ positive feedback confirms once again the uniqueness of this wonderful land.
