Contest WOW of Sicily: Here are the winners!
The WOW of Sicily contest has just concluded, the first contest in West of Sicily dedicated to the beauties of Western Sicily!
The creative works we received, both audiovisual and photographic, were able to convey a message of great importance to us: that Western Sicily is unique and deserves to be valued.
The project, promoted by the Tourist District of Western Sicily, was born from the need to promote the knowledge of this special territory more and more, in order to rediscover the beauty of its most fascinating places.
The aim was to tell Western Sicily with an image or a video, trying to capture the essence of a territory that always manages to create amazement: the colors of a sunset, a moment of celebration, the discovery of a glimpse of a breathtaking village.
The photos and videos were evaluated by our exceptional technical jury, led by photographer Shobha Battaglia, and composed of journalist Gery Palazzotto and director Francesco Siro Brigiano.
The trio of judges was really put to the test, facing content of great quality and admirable beauty.
After careful selection by our technical jury, we can finally announce the winners. So congratulations to:
Fabio Maranzano, winner of the award for the “Best photographic work” category with the work “Gli angoli del Paradiso”
Greta Gatto, winner of the award for the “Best audiovisual work” category with the work “A Typical Sicilian Day” and Tonino Teri, ex aequo winner with the work “É così facile innamorarsi della Sicilia Occidentale”
Erika Bongiovanni, winner of the award for the “Best social output” category with the work “Turista nella mia terra”
Your content really moved us: it was impossible not to say “WOW!”.
On this occasion, we would like to thank everyone for your heartfelt participation. You really responded to the challenge, this territory never ceases to amaze and your shots were definitely up to the task. Soon you will see them published on our social channels or, who knows, maybe even on our website!
Although this first edition has just ended, our hunger for beauty is still strong: that’s why we ask you to continue posting your favorite places in Western Sicily using the hashtag #WestofSicily. We will be happy to reshare them on our channels!
