Marettimo Italian Film Fest

The Marettimo Italian Film Fest is a festival dedicated to feature films and debut films released in cinemas in the last 12 months, as well as short films and documentaries, all produced in Italy, which awards the prestigious “Stella Maris” prize. It is the first entirely Made in Italy film festival, which is held on the island of Marettimo in July.
The festival is further enhanced by the inclusion of cookery shows on the island, run by the most highly-qualified members of the F.I.C. – Federazione Italiana Cuochi (Italian Federation of Chefs). The aim is to raise awareness, through various food and wine events, of the history of the Region and the influence of the successive conquests of Sicily on its culinary traditions, as well as to highlight the close relationship between food and cinema.
The festival is organised by the SoleMar-Eventi cultural association and is sponsored by the Region of Sicily, the Marine Protected Area and the Municipality of Favignana, which hosts the event.
