There is never a dull moment in the west of Sicily, a landscape rich in history and exceptional archaeological remains. Try encouraging your children to imagine what these places – now quiet and enchanting – looked like in ancient times.
- Look up at the sky from inside the Doric temple in the Archaeological Park of Segesta (link to contents page) and sit together in its ancient theatre
- Take a boat ride on the Stagnone lagoon to the Archaeological Area of Motya to discover the ancient city, and at the museum take a picture of yourself posing as the “Giovinetto di Mozia (Motya Charioteer)” in its small museum
- Draw the columns of the temples in the Archaeological Park of Selinunte and then discover how they were made in the Cave di Cusa quarries
- Turn around imitating the dance of the beautiful statue of the Dancing Satyr in the museum dedicated to it
