Musical July in Trapani
A really interesting event, created in the late 19th century so that audiences of the Teatro Garibaldi in Trapani could continue to enjoy opera music in the summer, through relocating performances to the grounds of Villa Margherita. This idea was revived in 1948 and in just a few years transformed the municipal gardens into one of the most prestigious open-air theatres in Italy. Today, it is still an important event thanks to the Association, which has also created its own stage design and inaugurated immensely popular opera seasons, as well as concerts, ballets and shows included in the national theatre circuits.
