The Trapani hinterland offers exciting gastronomic discoveries, which reflect the harmony of the landscape. Throughout the year, but especially in October and November, a great experience in the countryside of this area, between Buseto Palizzolo and Valderice, is to visit an olive oil mill during the milling process: the excellent quality “olio nuovo” (new, fresh oil) offers a unique taste experience, to be paired with pane cunzato.

Furthermore, in Salemi, in the Valle del Belice, having visited its magnificent multicultural old town, beautiful churches, castle and museums, it’s definitely worth paying a visit one of the dairies that produce excellent PDO cheeses, such as Vastedda del Belice, or attending one of the special tastings of zabbina, warm ricotta.
