Those who choose Castellammare del Golfo for a stay are spoiled for choice between sea and mountains: Monte Inici towers over the territory of Castellammare del Golfo with more than a thousand meters of height and a wooded extension of over two thousand hectares with a rich geological heritage of caves and ravines, as well as a multitude of species of flora and fauna.

The caves on Monte Inici are still partly unexplored, with stalactites and stalagmites, tunnels, columns and lakes of rare beauty, such as the Grotta del Cavallo or the Abisso dei Cocci, which can be visited thanks to the guide service of the local CAI which also allows the visit of the ancient grain pits found underground in the city center.

These are deep cavities in the shape of a truncated cone and dug into the rock, which were used for the conservation of grain.
