Mother Church of Paceco

Mother Church of Paceco Mother Church of Paceco
Dedicated to St. Catherine of Alexandria, matron of Paceco, the Mother Church dates back to the 17th century and was renovated during the 18th century according to a design by architect Giovanni Biagio Amico according to the trends of the time.

The church has a single nave, decorated with stuccoes inspired by the Serpotta school. A subject “La Crocifissione”, made of wood and glue in the workshops of Trapani and displayed on the high altar, stands out. Of great interest are the four altarpieces of the Neapolitan school of the late 17th century attributed to the painter Andrea Malinconico.
